The project aims at testing the feasibility and the acceptance by women and users of the Pregnancy And Newborn Diagnostic Assessment (PANDA), a mobile Health (mHealth) system specifically designed for staff with limited maternal and neonatal health (MNH) skills. The PANDA aims to provide pregnant women in resource-poor settings with focused antenatal care (ANC) by allowing health providers to collect information, conduct screening and provide health education according to World Health Organization (WHO) and national guidelines.According to the first studies, the PANDA system is the ideal solution to provide standardized focused ANC at a large scale in developing countries, thanks to an easy-to-use and affordable application. Its scaling up seems possible as it is easy to be used by low skilled staff, does not require a continuous internet connectivity, requires low level of supervision and support, and can be easily integrated into the national health system.
